This double album was another Black Friday hot deal. It has resided on my wishlist since its release, so it was high time to buy it. Here we've got two accomplished musicians and composers in a symbiosis, creating something real stunning, which doesn't fit readily into one of the established genres. Sylwia Białas' vocals are the icing on the cake, no matter if she sings scat, or her own lyrics in her native language, Polish - one of the world's most beautiful languages.

Note that Mc Hacek should be written with a haček on the c, i.e. č. But let's not be picky here, because Mc Hacek actually is Alex Machacek, who's missing the haček, too. His 1999 debut album surely meets open ears among the Zappa and Holdsworth fans. In fact, there are several references to Zappa's "Black Page" super-hyper-masterpiece. Besides that, there's a lot of first-class fusion music on this album, composed either by Mc Hacek himself, or by his bass/keyboards bandmate Tibor Kövesdi.

A few years after the release my cousin introduced me to Return to Forever with their LP Romantic Warrior. Now, half a life time later - well, you just don't expect this unique experience to happen for a second time.
